What is Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD)?
Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) is an advanced wastewater treatment system in which all industrial effluent is completely treated, recovered, and reused within the plant, ensuring that no liquid waste is released into the environment. Through a combination of physical, chemical, biological, and membrane-based processes, high-quality treated water is recycled for process, cooling, boiler, and utility applications, while the concentrated reject is further treated in evaporation and crystallization systems to convert dissolved solids into dry salts for safe disposal.
